Country Manager - Cameroon
Romuald Christian Kom holds the position of Country Manager, in charge of the development of business in African French-speaking Countries at W-SAFE RE.
Before joining W-SAFE RE, he was Underwriting Manager in charge of underwriting and claims for the French-speaking Sub-Saharan African Countries at Continental Reinsurance Ltd.
Indeed, he is a holder of a Master’s in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, a Master’s in Industrial Valorization of Wood and a Bachelor of Rural Engineering.
He has also done several trainings in both reinsurance and insurance, and actually he is at the end of MBA in Risk Management & Insurance training.
Before graduating as engineer, he worked for nine years by selling life insurance with three companies above. After graduating as engineer, he worked as Project Manager for eleven years on many projects of construction with Cameroon Engineering Corps (the Military branch in charge of construction).
Also, he is:
-President of the Sub-Commission of Major Risks at the Cameroonian Association of Insurance Companies;
-Coordinator of the Major Risks Pricing Project at the Cameroonian Association of Insurance Companies;
-Coordinator of the Collective of Insurance Engineers of Cameroon;
-Consultant Trainer in Fire and Engineering Risks at ISM Cabinet in Douala-Cameroon.
-Member of the National Order of Civil Engineers of Cameroon (NOCE);
-Member of the National Order of Rural Engineers of Cameroon (NORE);
-Member of the Cameroon’s Engineers Without Borders (IWB-Cameroon);
-Member of the Cameroon Association for Environmental Assessment (ACAMEE).
