Sir Alex Amarteifio, formerly of Aveni Re and Ghana Re, joined W-Safe Re as a Senior Consultant. He comes on board with well over 36 years experience in the Reinsurance business covering — the local Ghanaian market and over 20 African countries including Gambia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya & Uganda. His Reinsurance expertise apply to both treaty and facultative business for classes of business which include but not limited to; Fire Insurance, Accident Insurance, Marine Cargo Insurance, Marine Hull Insurance, Aviation Insurance, Motor Insurance, Engineering Insurance, Oil and Gas-related Insurance and various special risk insurance/reinsurance policies.

He has unique skills in reinsurance business development capacity spanning various disciplines such as; Marketing, Strategic Planning, Reinsurance Capacity Building, Reinsurance Business Risk Analysis, Portfolio/Product Management, Development of International Business Strengthening Concepts, Implementation of Marketing and Corporate Plans, Monitoring and Evaluation of Corporate and Portfolio Performance, etc.

While at Ghana Reinsurance Company (Ghana Re), He spearheaded the implementation of Overseas Business Strategies. He was also responsible and the key focal person for identifying and establishing Cameroon and Kenya regional offices for francophone Africa and East Africa markets.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. He has attended many seminars and trainings both internationally and locally from such prestigious institutions as Swiss Insurance Training Center, Zurich Switzerland, Institute of Banking and Finance, Bahrain. He also holds Certificate of Insurance Practice (CII), London, UK.
